What is the I-35E/US 67 Project?
The I-35E/US 67 Project is a TxDOT project that is developing long-term transportation and operational improvements to the southern gateway corridor. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve safety, congestion relief, traffic operations, address roadway deficiencies, and improve system linkage.
What are the project limits?
The proposed project would consist of improvements to the section of I-35E from US 67 to I-30 and US 67 from I-20 to I-35E.
What is a non-tolled express lane?
Non-tolled express lanes are non-tolled lanes that are open to all users including SOVs (single occupancy vehicles) and HOVs (high occupancy vehicles) that would serve as a general purpose lane with limited access. As a managed lane, the operations could change over time to allow HOVs only during peak hour or trucks only at night.
Will these lanes be tolled?
No, tolled managed lanes will not be included as a part of this project. In lieu of tolled managed lanes, non-tolled express lanes that will be open to all users will be implemented.
When is construction anticipated to begin?
Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2017/early 2018.

Yes, a series of public meetings have been scheduled for January 26 and January 28, 2016. Please check the Stay Involved page for more information. A public hearing is also anticipated for the summer of 2016.
